Meet Dr. Mabry
Dr. David B. Mabry is an Internal Medicine physician who is board-certified by the American Board of Internal Medicine. He received his Doctorate in Medicine in 1995 from The Medical College of Georgia and engaged in residency training at Carolinas Medical Center (Atrium Health) in 1998. Long recognized as a member of the Charlotte medical community, Dr. Mabry gained significant outpatient Internal Medicine experience at South Charlotte Primary Care and within the Carolinas Healthcare System. Additionally, Dr. Mabry practiced at Hawthorne Medical Clinic in Watkinsville, Georgia, which was acquired by Piedmont Healthcare Group of Atlanta.
However, it was during his time in traditional practice that Dr. Mabry found himself getting frustrated. In his opinion, his patients deserved more—time, resources, access, and attention. And the traditional model of healthcare did not align with this belief or intent. Because of this, Dr. Mabry started searching for a model of healthcare that would allow extended, relaxed visits as well as direct access for patients who had questions or concerns. He wanted to be able to develop relationships with his patients that were meaningful and provided for positive outcomes—and he found this in the Direct Primary Care business model.
Today, as the Founder of MyMD Direct, Dr. Mabry is passionate about the DPC model of healthcare. Ultimately, Dr. Mabry no longer lacks autonomy and has the ability to give his patients the level of care and attention that they deserve. He launched MyMD Direct in Charlotte not only because of his deep relationships with sub-specialists in the community but also because he realized that the Charlotte market did not have an identifiable pure Internal Medicine DPC practice. Dr. Mabry knew that he had the ability to bring more personalized, one-on-one healthcare and offer the patients he serves direct 24/7 access—something that traditional practices in Charlotte could not deliver.
